MSB Women’s Golf Outing

09.26.17

On September 25, more than 60 women gathered for the 2017 MSB Women’s Golf Outing, held at Hyatt Hills Golf Course in Clark, NJ. The annual event, which has been held since 2008, brings together women professionals from throughout New Jersey. It is a unique opportunity for new and seasoned women golfers alike to develop their golf skills and build the confidence to participate in a business networking activity that is traditionally dominated by men.

The day began with a continental breakfast and an instructional golf clinic, where PGA professionals provided instruction on the use of woods, irons, wedges and putters. After a luncheon, attendees played a 9-hole round in teams of four.

This year, the event featured a lunch keynote delivered by Kira Sanbonmatsu, a Political Science professor at Rutgers University and Senior Scholar at the Center for American Women and Politics at the Eagleton Institute of Politics. Professor Sanbonmatsu spoke on her recent research on women legislators in the U.S. Congress and the importance of having more women in public office at all levels of government.
