John J. Oberdorf Jr. focuses his practice on counseling clients in the areas of mergers and acquisition, securities, antitrust, general corporate, commercial and tax matters, equipment leasing and financings. He represents numerous publicly and privately held entities. John formerly served as general counsel to one of the largest banks in New Jersey, devoting much of his efforts to the bank’s acquisition strategy. He also served as a director of Party City Corporation, having assisted the company in its start-up, mezzanine and initial public offering financing. John has represented both franchisors and franchisees in connection with the relationship between the franchisor and the franchisee, including without limitation, representing franchises in a national hamburger chain and sale of franchises back to the franchisor, as well as representing the franchisor in connection with franchises in the party supply business of the largest party supply company in the United States. John’s commercial finance experience includes counseling lenders and borrowers on all types of secured and unsecured loans and all aspects of equipment leasing, including master lease financings, sale/leasebacks and vendor lease programs.
