Ross J. Switkes concentrates his practice in the areas of bankruptcy, debtor/creditor rights, corporate restructuring and commercial litigation.
Ross regularly appears in the federal and state courts on behalf of a wide range of clients, including bankruptcy trustees, debtors, secured, and unsecured creditors, including committees, purchasers of assets, officers and directors, non-debtor spouses, landlords, transferees in avoidance actions, insurance companies, financially distressed companies and municipalities.
Ross is active in local and state-wide community and bar organizations. Ross serves as a member of the Lawyers Advisory Committee for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey; a Trustee of the Mercer County Bar Association; Co-Chair of the Bankruptcy, Volunteer Lawyers Project, and Golf Outing Committees of the Mercer County Bar Association; and a Barrister in the Bankruptcy American Inn of Court. Ross also serves on the NextGen Committee of the New Jersey Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association.
Ross served on the planning committee for the first annual “Run on the Reservoir” 5K to benefit the New Jersey Bankruptcy Lawyers Foundation, and from 2010 to 2014, he served as an Executive Board Member of the Young Lawyers Division of the Essex County Bar Association.
As a law student, he served as an intern for the Honorable Garrett E. Brown, Jr. (Ret.), Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and for the Honorable Paul J. Vichness (Ret.), Judge of the Superior Court, Essex County.
