MS&B Partner Bakari G. Lee Awarded the M. Dale Ensign Trustee Leadership Award
We’re proud to share that MS&B Partner Bakari G. Lee, has been awarded the M. Dale Ensign Trustee Leadership Award from the Association of Community College Trustees. This award is considered the ACCT's most prestigious national recognition in the field.
Prior to this, Bakari had received the Regional Trustee Leadership Award for the region, which qualified him for the national award. He was chosen as one of the five lay trustees from across the United States, and emerged as the overall winner.
Bakari was appointed to the Hudson County Community College Board of Trustees in 2006 and is currently serving as Vice Chair. “Vice Chair Lee’s experience in community service predates his work as an HCCC Trustee. He has publicly stated that he believes involvement with the community is critically important. He believes in giving back without expecting anything in return,” shares HCCC President Dr. Christopher Reber.
Bakari has a long history of contributions to the community college sector, having served as Chair of the NJ Council of Community Colleges and National Chair of the ACCT Board of Directors. Through his work, he has advocated for accessible high-quality higher education, particularly for people of color. Lee has played an important role in moving forward student success programs, funding and tuition stabilization, and equal educational opportunities.
Well deserved, Bakari!
