NJ Doctors of Law – “100 Strong” – on the Fonrt Line of Financial Care

The COVID-19 pandemic has 2 phases – the first is getting the health issues caused by the pandemic under control and the second is the financial devastation wrought by over 1 million New Jersey residents filing for unemployment.  Legal Services of New Jersey will be overwhelmed with clients seeking financial assistance to file Chapter 7.  There also will be many veterans in need of financial assistance.

We are creating a list of at least “100 Strong”:  We are looking for at least 100 lawyers to volunteer to be part of the “100 Strong”; to be ready, willing and able to take on a case as soon as legal services sends to us.  The clients will be pre-screened and qualified as eligible under Legal Services guidelines.   Most, if not all, will be eligible for a waiver of the filing fee.  In terms of veterans, we will determine if qualified under Chapter 7 before assigning a case.

We thank you in advance for joining our “100 Strong” to flatten the financial curve.
