Alaina Patzke is an associate of the firm. Her primary practice areas include redevelopment, public finance, project finance, and corporate law. She works with businesses, developers, municipalities, and public agencies in redevelopment and financial transactions. Her practice includes the structuring and documentation of redevelopment projects, including the designation of redevelopment areas, preparation and adoption of redevelopment plans, designation of redevelopers, and negotiation of redevelopment and financial agreements. She provides general counsel services to clients in areas including legislation drafting, document preparation, and procurement.
Prior to joining the firm, Alaina worked as in-house counsel for The Wendy’s Company at its global headquarters in Dublin, Ohio. There, she developed transactional experience working in the areas of franchise development, securities, technology, marketing, and real estate. Alaina spearheaded special projects while at Wendy’s, including company-wide due diligence collection in connection with the company’s refinancing of $875 million of securitized debt and development of specialized scheduling procedures for Wendy’s restaurants in New York City.
In 2016, she earned her J.D., cum laude, from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where she served as Managing Editor for the Ohio State Law Journal. Alaina held a judicial externship with Honorable Judge John E. Hoffman, Jr. in the Southern District of Ohio. Alaina holds a B.A., magna cum laude, in International Development, with a minor in Spanish, from The Ohio State University.
