Coriell Labs Innovation Center Brings Biomedical Research and Jobs to Camden
Camden has reached an important milestone in advancing biomedical research and innovation with the launch of the New Jersey Coriell Labs Innovation Center. The approximately 45,000‑square‑foot facility will serve as a cutting‑edge hub for emerging biotechnology companies, offering state‑of‑the‑art incubator and laboratory space through a partnership with the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) under its Strategic Innovation Center Program.
Led by the Coriell Institute for Medical Research, the project will transform a former industrial site into a collaborative research environment designed to foster discovery and innovation. The newly constructed building will house the Innovation Center alongside Coriell’s new headquarters, as well as additional research and office space to support future growth.
The project is expected to create approximately 150 new jobs and represents an investment of more than $60 million. NJEDA has committed $20 million to support the Innovation Center, with Coriell investing more than $21 million toward the development. MS&B served as counsel to Coriell throughout the project, advising on its agreements with NJEDA related to the Innovation Center.
