Biography
Malcolm X. Thorpe, Esq. has a diverse practice that focuses on litigation, land use and real estate matters including condemnation and affordable housing transactions. Malcolm is a skilled advocate and problem solver who represents individuals, government and businesses entities. Malcolm has substantial experience in all aspects of litigation and has experience litigating matters concerning a variety of complex subject matters. Malcolm applies his diverse litigation experience to assist stake holders in navigating transactional risks and is a trusted advisor in real estate transactions.
Prior to joining the firm, Malcolm was an Associate at an insurance defense firm in New York and New Jersey where he handled cases from inception through trial in both states. Malcolm also worked as a Claims Analyst for a large international insurance corporation where he oversaw claims for civil litigation matters involving professional and employment practice liability. These experiences have made Malcolm a zealous advocate with a unique perspective on how to develop sensible strategies that meets clients’ needs.
Malcolm is a first-generation college graduate and graduate of Rutgers University School of Law where he was an editor for Rutgers Business Law Review and a Civil Justice Clinic Advocate.

MS&B Secures Unanimous Decision in High-Profile Condemnation Case
William Northgrave, Kevin McManimon and Malcolm Thorpe recently secured a unanimous appellate decision in the long-standing condemnation case for Jersey City’s 125 Monitor Street property. Known for its chronic code violations and contamination, this neglected site has finally been cleared for acquisition by the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency through eminent domain.
